Studio Lighting

The sixth meeting of the Canon/Camera Owners of the Bay Area (COBA) user group will be held on Wednesday, August 14, 2002 at the Stanford Linear Accelerator Center (SLAC) from 7:30-11:00 pm.

You’ll note the slight name change. COBA welcomes all digital SLR owners (i.e. Canon, Nikon, Fuji, Contax, and Sigma).

Studio Presentations

The main presentation will be on studio lighting. Casey Cheung is a local professional photographer in the Bay Area who shoots weddings, portraits and events. A member of PPGBA (Prof Photographers of the Greater Bay Area), he uses both Nikon SLR digital cameras and medium format Hasselblad equipment. Casey will demonstrate techniques for shooting digital with both portable hotshoe flashes, as well as studio lighting equipment. COBA members are also encouraged to bring along their own digital cameras (with video playback cord) so that they may can also plug in their own digital cameras to shoot with using the lighting setup. We will have a television on hand to display images during the presentation.
