Camera News Recap
A number of cameras have been introduced recently that will be of interest to COBA members. We will have a brief recap of the more interesting ones, including the Canon EOS 5D, EOS 1D Mark II N, Canon EF Lenses, and the Nikon Coolpix P1 and P2 with built-in 802.11b/g wireless capabilities.
Digital Photographers Group
Gilbert Draper is forming a small group of intermediate and advanced digital photographers who are interested in expanding the artistic levels of their work. At the meetings, prints will be viewed/shared and constructively critiqued by the group. When available, the group will invite professionals to join in this process. There is more that can be done as a group such as group shoots, workshops, share information etc. The goal is to learn, grow, and enjoy through photography.
COBA does an excellent job educating us in the technical areas of digital photography and equipment. This group will concentrate mainly on the expressive
and artistic goals of our work. We will all be print makers.
If interested, please email Gil at gildra38 (at) yahoo.com with a short description of your current work and photographic background.
Studio Lighting
It’s that time of the year again for our annual studio lighting presentation! We’ll have monolights, softboxes, beauty dishes, umbrellas, backgrounds, remote controls, and more for hands-on demonstrations.
We will perform side-by-side comparisons between portable flash units and strobes, various light modifiers, and more. We will also discuss how much it actually costs to get up and running with studio lights.
